UAE's 2022 shopper report
Can your business take advantage of the e-commerce boom in UAE?
A new report on UAE's online shopper behaviour is out! As we move towards 2022, it's essential to understand how this shift impacts consumers, businesses and society.
Businesses also feel the effects of this shift towards digital shopping as more people make purchases online instead of in stores. Online continues to cannibalise offline spending, and online retail spend in the UAE is predicted to rise by 20%- to US$12 billion- in 2022, according to Kearney, reaching US$17 billion by 2025.
A massive 47% of online shoppers expected to spend a lot more this year. Only 6% of shoppers expect to spend a little or a lot less online in 2022.
In 2021, Amazon and Noon were chosen as shopping destinations by most online consumers —that number is likely to continue to grow in 2022.
In areas such as consumer electronics, fashion, cosmetics & hair care, and vitamin and supplement items, more than a third of online buyers say Amazon is their first pick.
What are your thoughts about online shoppers' behaviour in UAE? What are the main triggers?
