Consumers expect today's brands and companies to demonstrate support for the health of people and the planet. Over the counter medicines (#otc), food supplements, and self-care medical treatments will be subject to greater attempts to reduce their environmental impact, reflecting consumers' growing concerns and requests for products that fulfil their eco-consciousness.

Other industries have demonstrated the need to address downstream emissions (packaging, waste) before tackling the more difficult upstream emissions issues (supply chains, ingredients sourcing, manufacturing). Nevertheless, companies must make progress in this area to reach the stated Sustainable Development Goals.
